Cemetery Committee

Galien Township Cemetery Committee

Notice Regarding Periodic Cemetery cleanups:

The Cemetery Committee performs two cleanups per year, one in the late Spring and one the late fall. The purpose is to cleanup debris and old decorations. Please see the Calendar of Events on the main page for times of these cleanups.

The Cemetery Advisory Committee meets during the Spring through Fall months on the third Monday of each month at the Township Office at 7:00pm. See calendar of events on main page for meeting schedule. Ms. Jennifer Richter leads this Committee. Members of this Committee are serving on a volunteer basis.

In addition to the periodic administrative meetings, the Committee spent five afternoons in the summer and fall of 2016 clearing overgrown volunteer trees and debris from the grounds. Over 125 hours have been donated by the volunteers for this purpose.

The Committee continues to identify, prioritize and perform further improvements to the Cemetery, as a symbol of respect for the loved ones that have been laid to rest there.

Cemetery Information Needed!!!!

The Township has undertaken a major project of reviewing and computerizing its Cemetery records. This is being done in an effort to improve and preserve the records for future generations.

As part of this project, we are looking for copies of Cemetery Deeds issued from October 1986 thru December 1997.

If you have a Cemetery Deed issued in this time frame, we would like to get a copy of it so that our records can be updated.

Please contact us to make arrangements to provide copies.

We appreciate your assistance with this project.
